LG Bohai caustic soda and VCM shutdown for 20 days' maintenance

LG Bohai’s 240,000 tonne/year caustic soda and 340,000 tonne/year VCM now are going through a 20 days’ turnaround. Company source said, this maintenance started from August 4 and relevant facilities would restart on August 24.
LG Bohai is the VCM supplier to LG Dagu, which owns a 340,000 tonne/year PVC capacity. According to source of LG Dagu, the latter would keep normal operating as relevant preparations had been done in June and July.
With regards to caustic soda, in August LG Bohai had to stop sales in domestic market. According to company source, LG Bohai will not restart sales until early September, as some export shipments should be remitted at the end of August.
