YPC starts up a new TDP unit |

Yangtze Petrochemical (YPC) will run one-month trial at its new toluene disproportionation (TDP) unit which was started up on 9 September, said a company official on Friday.
The new TDP unit will consume about 200,000 tonnes of toluene as feedstock to produce 100,000 tonnes of benzene per year, and other products will be produced but they were not confirmed, the official added.
Meanwhile, YPC is stocking toluene at present to prepare for the operation of this TDP unit, according to traders and sources close to the company.
YPC’s another TDP unit, which consumes several thousands tonnes of toluene per month, had been shut for maintenance recently. Therefore, YPC would increase the consumption of toluene by around 10,000 tonne/month if the new unit could achieve full operating rates.
Some traders believed the east China toluene market will be supported by the startup of TDP unit.
YPC is located in Nanjing, east China Jiangsu province.
