On 18 Nov 2008, Lanzhou Bluestar Chemical Co Ltd commissioned a 200,000 tonne/y methanol plant at Lanzhou in Gansu province, China. Construction of the plant, which uses natural gas as raw material, was started on 19 May 2006. Investment in the plant of about RMB Yuan 500 M by the subsidiary of China National Bluestar (Group) Corp is expected to generate sales of RMB Yuan 400 M/y.
