Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company (ZRCC) cut its aromatics operating rate by 30% from 25 November due to maintenance of upstream refining, said a company source. ZRCC will shut its oil refining unit for a 15-day scheduled maintenance from 25 November, added the source. Meanwhile, the related toluene disproportionation (TDP) unit would also be cut operating rates by 30% during the same period, he said. The aromatics unit, located at Ningbo in eastern Zhejiang province, can produce 220,000 tonne/year of benzene, 250,000 tonne/year of toluene and 680,000 tonne/year of xylene.
