China Implements tariff Concession on PVC from January 1, 2009 |

From January 1, 2009, new tariff system came into effect in China. According to the announcement of the Chinese Customs, China will impose preferential tariffs on PVC imports from countries and regions which signed relevant free trade agreements (FTA) with China.
The Most-Favored-Nation(MFN)tariff on PVC in 2009 keep as 6.5%, the same as 2008.
According to the China-ASEAN FTA agreement, PVC imports from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma, Philippine, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam can enjoy a 5% import tariff, decreasing by 1.5%.
Acoording to the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement, PVC from Korea, India, Sri Lanka, Bengal, and Laos will enjoy a 6% tariff, 0.5% lower than that of MFN. What’s more, PVC from other countries and regions can enjoy other preferential tariff as the table attached.
With regards to feedstock of PVC, in 2009 tariff on ethylene, EDC and VCM also implement new tariffs as the table below.
